Tribute

Formerly of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Wanda Josephine Pritchard (nee
Oczachowski), age 97, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2018 in
Cape Coral, Florida. Wanda was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on
November 13, 1920. She was preceded in death by her farther Anton
Oczachowski and her mother and step-father, Josephine and Bert
Smith. She was married for twenty years to the late Dik Bond
Pritchard. She was a dear sister to the late Steve Oczachowski,
Stanley Oczachowski, Clara Zimbeck, Jack Nelson, Mary Dillaber
and infant Chester Oczachowski. She is survived by her sister,
Evelyn Graben. She was the loving mother and mother-in-law of
daughters Debra (Thomas) Calhoun, Pamela (Ted) Matiovics and
step-daughter Penelope (David) Hase. She leaves behind her dear
grandchildren, Thomas (Emily) Calhoun, Erin (Doug) Meckfessel,
Mary Calhoun, Allison Shedivy, Madeline Shedivy and step-grandchildren, Jeffrey (Kim) Hase,
Jennifer (Michael) Rice and John (Katy Day) Hase. She was a great-grandmother to Desmond,
Henrik, Felix, Josephine and Juliette Calhoun. She is survived by her many nieces, nephews
and friends.
Wanda was retired from the Waukesha Post Office. Once retired, she taught immigrants to read
at the Waukesha Public Library and volunteered at the Waukesha History Museum. She also
held office in the local chapter of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees).
Wanda was a talanted artist and member of the Waukesha Art League for many years. She
was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church for 40 years and participated in the Quilters
Guild there. Wanda was an avid gardener, a traveler and lover of nature. She always enjoyed a
cold Budweiser and a chance to dance the polka. She will be missed by all who knew her and
remembered for her kindness, tenacity and boundless love for her family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on August 18, 2018 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran
Church in Waukesha, Wisconsin (1205 S. East Avenue, 53186). A luncheon gathering to
celebrate Wanda’s life will be held at Thunder Bay Grill (N14 W24130 Tower Place, Pewaukee,
WI 53072) at 12:30 pm.
