William(Bill) Allen Herndon, age 64, from Cape Coral, Florida, departed this life on August 14, 2017 at Hope Hospice House.
Born February 13, 1953 in Gordonsville, VA to the late Percey and Carolyn Herndon.
He will be missed by his wife Christine(Tina) Herndon, son Nick Mattoni(and Sandra), sister Sylvia McDevitt(and Jay), grandson Jackson Thomas Mattoni, nephew Alexander Johnson(and Amanda), and niece Libbi Moore(and Patrick).
Bill grew up in Gordonsville, VA. Early in life, he began his career in the automobile industry. He attended Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA and graduated with a B.A. in Business. Shortly after college, he continued his career by working for General Motors/Oldsmobile as a district sales manager in Ohio then transferred to Florida. He continued his journey with Scanlon Lincoln Mercury in Ft. Myers, FL. Bill was a considerate man and an animal lover especially with his Shar-peis. He was quick to offer a kind word or advice to anyone in need. He loved spending time with family and friends and was an avid sports fan attending many Dolphins’ games, the World Series, and NASCAR races, with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. being his favorite driver. He really enjoyed his two Chinese Shar-Pei puppies, Doctor Wu and Tali, this last year.
A memorial will be held Tuesday, August 22, from 6-8 p.m. at Fuller-Metz Funeral Home, 3740 Del Prado Blvd. South, Cape Coral. A service will be held at 7 p.m. There will be a mass on Wednesday, August 23 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral.
