H. Frank LaBarbera entered into eternal life on July 29, 2017 at 95 years of age. He was born in New Paltz, New York on April 6, 1922 to the late Ciro and Francis LaBarbera. Frank served his country honorably in the United States Navy during WWII. After his military career, he continued to serve and protect others as a police officer with the NYPD until retiring in 1963. Frank then moved to Cape Coral, FL in 1977 where he continued his community involvement as a life member of the VFW, and a volunteer with Hope Hospice. Frank initiated the Honor Guard Service Program at Hope Hospice as a member of the Fleet Reserve, demonstrating his care for other veterans and their families. He lived his life in service to others and will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lisa J. LaBarbera as well as 6 brothers. Surviving family members include three sons, Mike (Colleen); Glenn (Barbara); and Ron (Kristina); as well as 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5PM to 8PM on Wednesday, August 2nd at Fuller Metz Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, August 3rd at 10:30AM at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Cape Coral, followed by interment at Coral Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hope Hospice 9470 HealthPark Circle Fort Myers, FL 33908.
