Maria Williams went to join her husband on their wedding anniversary, April 27, 2017.
She was born in Sanok, Poland on April 22, 1926 to Anastasja Gagatek Piekut and Maksymilian (Marian) Piekut .  She was a sickly child with a bad heart and was not expected to live to adulthood.  But she survived to the age of 91 because she was strong-willed.
When she was 16, she was taken from her home and forced to work on a farm in Germany.  After the war, she worked at the Red Cross in Heidelberg where she met her husband David Williams, born David Choo.  For him, it was love at first sight. It was his persistence that won her over.  They were married on April 27, 1948.  On his deathbed, he called her his "one true love"
She is predeceased by her husband David and son John;  sisters: Janina, and Katarzyna; brothers; Jozef,  Kazimierz, 2 brothers Franciszek and Marian.
She is survived by her children: Rosemary, Judith (Alfred Suhr), David (Carol) and Thomas Alan (Lisa), her grandchildren: Rachel, Damien (Joshua), Michelle, Devin, Jeremiah, Garth, Chandra, Joshua, Sarah and Jasen;  great grandchildren: Anastasia, Matthew, Zachary, Hailey, Aliyah and Theo and by Alyssa White.,  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.
