James L Snyder, 92, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully January 01, 2018. James was born in Fairfield Township, Pennsylvania to parents Lawrence J Snyder and Lauretta Snyder (Hill) in 1925. James enlisted in The United States Army in 1944. He served honorably in The European Theater of WWII. During this time while in Austria he met the love of his life, Anne Snyder (Steiner). They remained married and loving for 70 years. James was a master building contractor for 40 years in The Ligonier Valley area of Pennsylvania. He was able to build anything from a crooked house in Storybook Forest, to parade floats, to retail stores, to mansions. James was a Deacon at The First Christian Church in Laughlintown, Pennsylvania where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and a member of the choir. He enjoyed golfing, boating and spending time at his summer home at Yough Lake, Pennsylvania with his beloved family.
James left behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Anne, his son, Christopher (Stacy), his daughter Stephanie (Jon), his grandchildren Noah and Adam, and his beloved dog Schatzi. James was pre-deceased by his brother Donald and two sisters Twila and Alice.
A memorial service is scheduled at Fuller Metz Cremation and Burial Services on Friday January 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM. A clergy service conducted by Pastor Keith Krueger is scheduled for 11:00 AM. Military Honors at 11:30.
