Mildred Olive Whitehead, 100, of Cape Coral died peacefully at home on Saturday February 17, 2018. She was born in Buffalo, NY in 1917 to the late Clayton and Josephine Mosier. She graduated from New York State College for Teachers in Albany, NY in 1939 with a B.A. degree in business education. She married Harold “Chuck” Shafer Whitehead on May 25, 1941. Mildred lived in Marblehead, MA, where she raised her children. In 1965 she moved to Cincinnati, OH where she lived for 43 years. She retired to Cape Coral in 2008. She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter DF-Cape Coral, Hope United Methodist Church in Cape Coral, and a former member of the Civil Defense Unit in Marblehead, MA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, siblings; Kathy Dunn, Evelyn Worthington, and Clayton Mosier.
Survivors include her sons Harry (Ann) Whitehead, Cape Coral, Don ( Jacqueline) Whitehead, Middletown, CT, nine grandchildren; Catherine Taylor and Ali (Kevin) Zaenger, James (Mitzi), Bryan (Justyna), Susan (Emily) and Jeffrey Whitehead, Katherine (Jasper) Shen, Dawn Tedesco and Robin (Bill) Sagendorf, twelve great grandchildren; Andrew M. Taylor, Lily Grace, Violet Ann, and Emmy Rose Zaenger, Wiktor, Olek, Eli, Ena, Ean, and Timothy Whitehead, Tessa Shen and Piper Sagendorf.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 3:00PM at Hope United Methodist Church, 2006 Chiquita Blvd. Cape Coral, Fl 33991.
